10 Beachside Airbnbs perfect for a South Australian staycation

The warmer weather is approaching which can only mean one thing- beach weather!

Since COVID has made it tricky to travel just about anywhere, I’ve compiled a list of beach houses to visit, all just a stone throw away from the sea. Whether you’re wanting to stay close to Adelaide, head up to the Yorke Peninsula or Port Lincoln, or even on the ferry to Kangaroo Island, I’ve got you covered.

A lot of these places I am yet to visit, but have either been stalking via Airbnb or have been tried and tested by friends.

Get the GPS ready and pop these into the coordinates:

My Sister and The Sea

Perfect for summer or winter, My Sister And The Sea is the ultimate getaway tucked away near Innes National Park. Think outdoor baths, napping on day beds, sleep in’s in French linen and cosy mornings around the combustion heater in their charming 1950’s weather board cottage. Filled with vintage and foraged finds, paired with hints of luxury, this seaside stay is at the top of my list to visit. It’s also ridiculously instagrammable.

The Shell Collector

This 1920’s bungalow overlooking South Port Beach is the perfect place for a staycation. Walking distance to Port Noarlunga (think cafes, wine, restaurants and icecream parlours), a huge stretch of patrolled beaches safe for kids, South Port beach (think surfing and stand up paddleboarding on the Onkaparinga River) and when you’re done being busy for the day, come relax on the front deck and watch the sunset.

Love & Mutiny

If you love colour and a bit of fun then this is the place for you. Located in Chinaman Wells on the Yorke Peninsula, this pretty in pink shack takes in 360 degree views of the beach, has its own path to the beach and beach fire pit. There is so much I love about this house, I’m a little bit obsessed. It’s on my list to book when the weather gets warmer.
