Port Noarlunga is one of my most favourite places to hang in the Southern suburbs. It has a breathtaking coastline, a excellent fish and chip shop and plenty of cool cafes, one of those being Agathas Cafe.

Agathas is one of our regular go-to joints at Port Noarlunga that always serves a ripper of a feed. Whether your after breakfast or lunch, a juice, coffee or even a glass of wine or two, they will have you sorted. I’ve been meaning to blog about this little beauty for a while now and the time is here.

this cool and relaxed cafe is nestled on the corner of the main drag, with plenty of seating both inside and out the front (highly suggest alfresco when the suns out- great for people watching). on this occasion we sat inside because the winter weather was getting us down. but not for long, because the huge breakfast menu was going to put a spring in my step.

in true Jess form I spent forever debating on what to have for breakfast. the other half and I decided on “bean there done that- a serve of house made beans, avocado, toasted ciabatta, grilled tomatoes and lime. I also decided on a side of bacon, because what is breakfast without bacon. while we waited we sipped on our FIX Coffee lattes which were incredibly delicious.

the food soon arrived and as per usual the portion size was massive- i’m not complaining.
the beans were hearty in a rich sauce, the bread was toasted and slathered in a good dose of butter. there was at least half a avocado on the plate as well as 2 full size tomatoes which had been grilled perfectly so the skins were just bursting. there was also a addition of half a lime on the plate which also appeared to be grilled slightly and added for a nice zesty tang over the avo and beans. oh and the side of bacon, go me for a good choice.

The lunches here are just as good as the breakfast, think anything from lemon mrtyle salt and pepper squid, to gourmet burgers (saltbush lamb or peri peri chicken), salads, tapas and plenty of veggo options. If desserts are your thing then then have you covered and if you still can’t decided then the specials board always has some rocking choices.

for those who love a liquid lunch then you to are covered, serving plenty of local red, white and sparkling wines. the beers are equally as impressive, with Swell Ale being a favourite of the southerners who visit. and my pick of the bunch- the Fog City Red Sangria Cider, 500mls of liquid gold.

if your after somewhere that is kid friendly, caters to every food lover- including the picky ones and is even in the entertainment book then this is where you should go.

you can find Agathas Cafe at 1 Gawler Street, Port Noarlunga.
