A shower for Baby S- a very confetti filled affair
At the end of October, I held a baby shower for our little baby S. We were showered with so much love. It was low key affair at home with my nearest and dearest girlfriends and family, it was the perfect afternoon.
I’m forever looking for an excuse to cover the house with confetti and get my crafternoon on, so this shower presented as the perfect opportunity (sorry Trev!). The theme was rainbow, the perfect theme for our miracle baby. Rainbow meant handmaking a HUGE rainbow and tinsel streamer wall and 5M balloon garland, plenty of jumbo confetti, confetti balloons and lots of gold glitter. Kmart and Poppies for Grace came in with the goods when it came to brightly-coloured goodness and invites were created using a template from Hey Lovely Co and printed with Vistaprint. Her templates are the bomb.
Games were kept to a minimum and we didn’t open presents- it was more of a excuse to get the gang together and say thanks for how grateful we’ve been for their support in my pregnancy journey.
Food, as always, was the main focus of the day (apart from my stomach). There were lots of handmade goodies- my bestie Kate made her famous lemon slice, I whipped up lots of cupcakes and ripple balls, there were chocolate platters and a few cheese platters to break up the sugar comas. The cake was a rainbow cake from Coles that I decorated with sprinkles (more sprinkles ended up on the floor than the cake) and mini tart cases were filled with homemade lemon curd and Salted Brandy Caramel by Maggie Beer (I’m all for cheating and making things easy, especially in these circumstances). Macarons were from The Macaron Bar Adelaide and they were divine.
Baby S got absolutely spoilt and we are so lucky to have so many incredible, supportive women in our life.
Below are a few snaps of the day.
