Spending the night at the Clare Valley Discovery Park
If you are looking for somewhere to stay on your Clare getaway, the Discovery Park in Clare is a no brainer.
Scrap the idea of your basic campground with old facilities, this park has it all. We were lucky enough to stay in one of their deluxe cabins, but if the weather was better, we would definitely visit again and pitch the tent or swag on one of their powered sites.
The park is centrally located in Clare, surrounded by award winning wineries, incredible eateries and gorgeous cafes. If you have the family in tow then have no fear- this park is so kid friendly and even allows you to bring your dog into most areas of the park (best park ever, now all I need is a dog). The little ones will be entertained with the bouncing pillow, playground, pool and sports facilities- you’ll have to find a good excuse to drag them away from the fun.
Our stay in the Deluxe 6 sleeper cabin was a comfortable one. The queen bed was heaven for our heads and there was plenty of room for all our luggage (and wine), letting us spread out and make ourselves at home. We loved our self contained kitchen fitted with all the essentials, so you could cook up the ultimate feast and not have to worry about leaving your room.
In the mornings you can utilize the kitchen for the ultimate fry up, heading out to the balcony and soaked in the surrounds of the gum trees and lush greenery while you have brekky- sounds pretty damn good hey?!
Being it was winter and a week night, we chose to spend our evening rugged up in the villa. We raided the extra blankets, cranked the reverse cycle, hit the sofa and watched a few movies on the TV- it was the perfect night in, and the perfect excuse to dive into a glass of a local shiraz.
I loved how everything was catered for and thought of- even electric blankets which were a blessing. All you need to do is bring yourself, your tribe and your wheels. This villa had plenty of room for the whole family, giving adults some privacy with their own room and a seperate bathroom and toilet so there’s no arguments.
Whether you are after a powered site, a place to park your van or a cabin to call home, be sure to check out Clare’s Discovery Park. If only camping was as fancy as this when I went around Australia with my parents 20 years ago (no drop toilets here!).

***Dressed in Copper was invited as a guest overnight to Clare Discovery Parks. Although invited to the park, all opinions remain honest and my own and I honestly loved this park and what it had to offer!***
