Flowers, Indoor Plants and Coffee. Heaven is officially on earth- you’ll find it at Fleur & Brew.
If the thought of having a damn good latte surrounded by indoor plants and buckets upon buckets of flowers tickles your fancy then listen up! Fleur and Brew needs to be your new hangout.
This cafe come florist is very much a ‘blink and you’ll miss it’ kind of place, with a small sign out the front and a few scattered chairs being the best way to find it. This place was on my radar for some time, and now that I have visited I just cant get enough. Here’s why.
It’s a quaint little gem, boasting a long timber table, perfect to set up shop with a laptop or just sip your morning brew. Vanessa and Svetlana, the owners, designed the fit out themselves, with their handy husbands and family in tow to help put it all together.
If you are a sucker for indoor greenery and bunches of blooms then you will fall head-over-heels for this place. They stock plenty of Indoor plants, from local and interstate farmers, ranging from fiddle leafs, philodendrons, monstera’s, Ivy, string of pearls, chain of hearts- the list goes on. With awesome indoor plants also comes equally as cool pots- because every indoor plant needs a stunning vessel to house it.
In terms of flowers they you’ll find seasonal, beautiful and colourful arrangements, describing themselves as ‘Delicately Wild’.
Along with their amazing blooms they also have some of the best coffee in the biz- Sugar Browning Beans, roasted locally at Grange. They currently offer all the usual suspects- damn good lattes, iced varieties and Tumeric blends, as well as filter coffee landing soon.
If you are feeling peckish then feast your eyes on their pastries and biscuits. Their Almond Croissants, Cherry custard danishes, Gluten Free brownies, muffins and crumpets are from Swedish Tarts Bakery, Nut and Seed Florentine biccies are from Dot Chocolate and their Friday gourmet donuts are from Elementary Coffee Roasters. You got me at gourmet donuts!
2018/2019 is set to be a big year for this bunch, starting workshops centred around flowers and community (think basic flower arranging, flower crowns, evening workshops, bridal shower workshops) as well as having their website going live this year.
If you’re in the city and looking for a intimate cafe bound to put a smile on your face (and a bunch of flowers in your arms) then check out Fleur and Brew. No doubt it will become your new favourite.
You can find Fleur and Brew at 53 Gilbert Street, Adelaide.
