Wednesdays.
Also known as ‘Hump day’. Get your mind out of the gutter some of you- I’m talking about middle of the week.
Come Wednesday I am usually exhausted and feeling rather whiney (especially today). So I figured why not make Wednesday W I N E day instead of my usual whiney-day. Every Wednesday I’m aiming to publish a write up on a South Australian or interstate wine, cellar door or something wine related. We are spoilt for choice here in SA so this should keep me going for a while.
Because lets face it, who doesn’t love a good glass (or 2) of vino to get you through the week.
To kick things off, it’s time to fall in love all over again with a personal favourite of mine.
Hither & Yon- Rosato 2016
Check her out
She’s light pink and absolutely gorgeous. She’s clear, shes bright and gets you in the mood for balmy summer evenings. She’s sporting a gorgeous label by talented artist Amanda Brown from the United States, using plenty of watercolours to create a soft yet vibrant feel.
On the nose
She smells like bouquets of flowers, juicy pear, musk stick and guava.
Have a tipple
She’s not as sweet as you think, maybe a little bit dry. Full of delicious fruity flavours like honeydew melon, passionfruit, lychee and turkish delight- it’s like a liquid fruit salad. A very refreshing wine that is best served cold either by its self or with a cheese platter (everything’s better with a platter).
Where can I get one?
You can buy Hither & Yon’s Rosato online on their website or by visiting their quaint cellar door at 17 High Street, Willunga.
Do you have a wine you think I need to try? Or know a cellar door that’s an absolute gem? I’d love to hear all about them..
