No bake Reindeer Cookies

Looking for the perfect cookie to leave for Santa? Or just want to get into the festive season but can’t be bothered slaving by oven all day.

Well this is the recipe for you.

These Reindeer cookies are super easy to make, don’t require an oven and are kid approved (my 6 year old niece loved making them!). All the ingredients can be sourced from the local shops and even better they don’t cost a fortune.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of Arnotts Milk Arrowroot Biscuits
  • 1 tub of Betty Crocker Vanilla ready made icing (from Coles in the baking isle. If you can’t find this icing any tub icing should be fine or you can use melted white chocolate)
  • Packet of strawberries and cream lollies
  • Packet of milk chocolate chips
  • Packet of pretzels
  • Packet of chocolate dipped tiny teddies (another alternative to ears)
  • Mini marshmallows in pink and white (if you wanted to also make ‘Santa’ biscuits

Method

  1. Line tray with baking paper or have a few trays on hand to line up your cookies.
  2. Using a blunt knife (we used a pate knife because it’s good for small hands) spread some of the icing onto the bottom of the biscuit. You can be quite generous with how much you put on as you want the decorations to stick.
  3. Add the pretzels/teddies as ears.
  4. Now add the eyes- hello chocolate chips.
  5. Add 1 strawberries and cream lolly as a nose.
  6. Repeat with the remaining biscuits.
  7. Once completed leave cookies in the fridge for at least 2/3 hours to let the icing set. Store in a container in the fridge until you want to eat them (if they last that long!)

Alternative- You can also make Santa cookies! Using pink/white mini marshmallows, make a ‘hat’ for Santa (using pink mallows at the top and a line of white as the fluff on the hat. Leave a small gap- stick 2 chocolate chips in here as eyes. Then use white mallows at the bottom of the biscuit for Santas beard.
