Mothers day is getting closer, and every year I find myself buying mum the same old stuff- massage voucher, crockery from Myer or a bottle of wine. She never complains, and let’s face it her mothers day presents are generally things I want to buy myself (and just living through her as I can’t justify buying myself the same things).
However this year I have come up with a little list of things that I want to buy my mum for mothers day. I’ve sent this said list to a mum-friend of mine and she approves- so get ready to copy this link into a text message to the father-of-your-children so they get the idea. Nothing like a subtle hint.
Wine her and dine her in: Mclaren Vale
The McLaren Vale Wine Region has everything you will ever need to spoil mum for mothers day. My mum is a sucker for a platter so that, paired with a good bottle of red wine, is the perfect gift for her. If you’re looking for a place to bunker down and spoil mum with delicious platter and wine then check out some of my favourites- Fox Creek Wines, Leconfield, Angove Family Winemakers, Oxenberry, Alpha Box & Dice and Gemtree to name a few.

Love your body with: Oh Deer Sugar

There products are generally for multiple use so mumma will get a couple of good uses out of them. Another bonus, these babies wont break the bank and are made right here in Adelaide. My favourites from the range include the Fairy Floss Soda Pop Body Scrub, Donut bath bombs, Ring around the Rosie Bath Soak and the Confetti Fawn Shower Mousse. They have also have a special range for Mothers Day.
You can find them online or at Shop 4, Regent Arcade, Adelaide.
Suprise her with flowers from: Itty Bitty Bunch
Itty Bitty Bunch are a online florist based here in Adelaide, bringing you beautiful, bright and fresh blooms to your doorstep. The flowers are sourced every morning so you know you are getting great quality, and each bunch is wrapped up in hesion to make them picture perfect. Oh and my favourite bit about this florist- the flowers they don’t use each day is donated to people and places making a difference in the community (hospitals, volunteers, charities) so there is zero wastage and they are doing their bit to give back. For Mother’s Day they are doing $30 medium size bunches or $60 for a double size bunch delivered to selected areas- the perfect way to make mums day. Pre order online to have yours delivered on the day.
See Itty Bitty Bunch online for details.
Channel her inner creative at: Poets Ode, Hahndorf
Poets Ode is a shop stocking a range of ethically sourced home wears, tea and clothing that would make the perfect gift- think ceramic bowls, notebooks, naturally dyed scarfs and perfumes. But if your are looking for something a bit more hands on then check out their range of classes. They have a range of classes coming up, including a special one on Mothers Day called ‘Ode to Tea and Chocolate’- a tea infused raw chocolate making class with Shanti Wilby, where you can make your own delicious vegan/refined sugar free chocolates with a light afternoon tea also provided. Perfect for all ages- it’s the best way to spoil mum this Mothers Day. Tickets for the four hour class are $120.

Give her house a perk up with dreamy scents with: Chloe Jane Candle Co
Chloe is a young, free spirited and bubbly creative who has a passion for candles and all things lovely-smelling. She loves how candles and scents can change the way we feel and lift our mood, and this is evident in her range. Her candles come in three different sizes (including travel tins) and are presented in glass tumblers with timber lids giving them a organic feel. My favourite scents include ‘Golden’ (vanilla and caramel), ‘Karma’ (fig and brown sugar) and ‘Revitalize’ (mandarin coconut amber lime)- with so many gorgeous choices you’ll easily find one that suits her style.
See the Chloe Jane Candle Co website and Facebook for stockists and online purchases.
